Night Vision Cases, NVG Pouches & Protective Storage

Protect night vision, thermal optics and image intensifier components with night vision cases, NVG storage cases, foam-lined hard cases and protective containers. This collection includes storage options for sensitive night vision goggles, thermal monoculars and image intensifier tubes.

Night vision and thermal devices contain precision optics, electronics and sensitive components. A suitable case should protect against impact, dust, vibration, movement during transport and accidental contact with lenses, eyepieces, cables or exposed components.

Choose the Right Night Vision Case

Hard Cases for NVG and Thermal Devices

The Hard Case is designed to protect sensitive night vision goggles or thermal optics during transport and storage. It uses a hard-moulded outer shell, high-density foam and a customizable foam insert that can be shaped around compatible NVGs, thermal monoculars or compact optical equipment.

Hard cases are best for home storage, vehicle storage, shipping, workshop handling and controlled transport. Before choosing a hard case, confirm external dimensions, internal dimensions, foam depth, device fit, latch strength, gasket seal, weather resistance and whether accessories such as battery packs, cables or lens caps can be stored safely without contacting the device.

Image Intensifier Tube Containers

The Image Intensifier Container is a used NNVT image intensifier tube container designed to protect image intensifier tubes with shock-absorbing foam. It should be used for tube storage, tube handling and component organisation rather than marketed as a general NVG case.

Image intensifier containers should be cross-linked from image intensifier tubes and night vision lenses and parts, because their primary use case is component protection rather than complete device transport.

Soft NVG Pouches and Field Storage

As the collection expands, add soft NVG pouches for users who need padded field storage inside a pack, helmet, belt kit or equipment bag. A good NVG pouch should include padded walls, a non-abrasive interior, secure closure, internal organisation, lens-cap clearance, battery storage, drainage where needed and compatibility with monocular, binocular and thermal setups.

Soft pouches should be filtered separately from hard cases because they solve a different problem: compact carry and fast access rather than maximum crush protection.

Protective Storage for Night Vision and Thermal Optics

Protective storage should match the device type. A night vision monocular may fit a smaller foam-lined case, while dual-tube binocular NVGs, panoramic night vision goggles or a helmet-mounted thermal monocular may require deeper foam clearance and additional space for mounts, batteries or lens protection.

For thermal systems, browse thermal imaging devices, thermal accessories and thermal lens protectors to ensure the device is stored with compatible caps, shields and cables removed or secured correctly.

Storage and Transport Checklist

Before selecting a case or pouch, confirm:

  • Compatible device type: monocular, binocular, panoramic, thermal monocular or image intensifier tube
  • Internal dimensions and foam depth
  • External dimensions and pack compatibility
  • Foam type: pick-and-pluck, pre-cut, custom-cut or fixed insert
  • Interior material and scratch risk
  • Lens-cap and eyepiece clearance
  • Space for J-arms, bridges, mounts, battery packs and cables
  • Water, dust and impact resistance
  • Closure type: latch, zipper, buckle or hook-and-loop
  • Carry handle, strap, MOLLE or belt compatibility
  • Battery removal and separate battery storage
  • Silica-gel or moisture-control compatibility

Storage Best Practices for Night Vision Devices

Remove batteries before long-term storage, fit lens caps, clean lenses with a microfiber cloth, dry equipment before closing the case and store devices in a cool, dry, dark location. Do not store night vision devices loose in a pack where lenses, controls, housings or mount interfaces can be scratched or compressed.

For a complete setup, pair cases and pouches with night vision accessories, battery packs, NVG mounts, night vision helmets and helmet accessories, recorders and camera adapters and lens protectors and filters.
