Each component must use a compatible mechanical interface. A helmet mount described as “dovetail” will not automatically support a bayonet or mini-rail device without the correct arm or adapter.
An NVG helmet mount connects the helmet shroud to the night vision device, J-arm or bridge. Most models allow the device to be lowered into the viewing position and raised above the helmet when it is not required.

The Argus G24 LWNVM Mount provides an aluminium dovetail mounting option with an integrated breakaway feature. It is not intended for legacy bayonet-style J-arms.

A night vision J-arm connects a compatible monocular to the helmet mount. The correct arm depends on the device attachment point and the helmet-mount interface.
The Noisefighters AX14-PRO is a lightweight articulating arm for compatible PVS-14-style monoculars. It requires a dovetail helmet mount and allows the monocular to be repositioned or stowed closer to the helmet.
Other PVS-14 options include the MAX14 and traditional J-arms. Compare material, total weight, articulation, interpupillary adjustment, tether points and left- or right-eye positioning.
The Noisefighters DMAX14 is designed for compatible thermal monoculars equipped with a supported dovetail attachment. Mini-rail thermal devices require a purpose-built mini-rail arm or an approved conversion adapter.
Do not assume that an arm designed for a PVS-14 will support a thermal monocular. Device-side rail standards, centre of gravity, eye relief and mounting orientation may differ.
A night vision bridge can connect two compatible monoculars or combine night vision and thermal devices within one helmet-mounted system. Bridge selection must account for device adapters, weight, articulation, interpupillary adjustment and helmet-mount interface.
The Noisefighters Panobridge M1 is an articulating bridge for dual PVS-14 configurations and selected thermal monoculars. Its independently adjustable arms allow users to configure conventional parallel viewing or alter the angle of compatible devices.
Mini-rail arms and thermal quick-detach adapters are separate components and must be matched to the exact thermal device.
The Falconclaw QDB supports compatible Falconclaw adapters for dual-night-vision, dual-thermal and mixed night-vision-plus-thermal configurations. The bridge uses a dovetail helmet-mount interface and includes articulation and adjustable interpupillary stops.
Dovetail interfaces are commonly found on modern binocular goggles, helmet mounts, PVS-14 arms and bridge systems. Both sides of the connection must use a compatible dovetail profile and correctly lock before the device is used.
Legacy bayonet J-arms require a compatible bayonet helmet mount. They must not be inserted into a dovetail-only mount. Users upgrading from a bayonet system may need both a new helmet mount and a new J-arm.
Mini-rail interfaces are used by selected night vision and thermal monoculars. These devices require a compatible mini-rail arm, bridge adapter or conversion component rather than a standard PVS-14 J-arm.
A helmet shroud provides the interface between the helmet shell and the NVG mount. Available options include three-hole shrouds and model-specific mounting solutions.

Added weight and asymmetrical device placement can affect balance and viewing comfort. A secure rear counterweight or NVG battery pack may help balance the helmet, but every component must remain independently retained.
