The helmet mount connects an NVG helmet shroud to a night vision device, J-arm or bridge system. Compatibility must be confirmed at both ends of the mount before ordering.

Choose the Right NVG Helmet Mount

Dovetail NVG Mounts

Dovetail mounts are used with many modern night vision binoculars, articulating PVS-14 J-arms and dual-device bridges. The device, J-arm or bridge must have a compatible dovetail shoe that fully engages with the mount.

Dovetail options in this collection include the Nocturn Industries ALPHA Mount, Cadex Low-Profile Flip-Up NVG Mount, Wilcox G24, Argus G24-Style LWNVM Mount and selected Norotos mounting systems.

Bayonet NVG Mounts

Bayonet mounts are designed for compatible horn-style J-arms, including traditional PVS-14 mounting configurations. The Rhino II-Style Bayonet NVG Mount provides an option for users retaining a legacy bayonet interface.

A bayonet J-arm cannot connect directly to a dovetail-only helmet mount. Moving from a bayonet system to a dovetail system normally requires a compatible dovetail J-arm, bridge or device interface.

Force-to-Overcome Mounts

A force-to-overcome mount allows the night vision device to be raised or lowered by applying controlled pressure. This avoids the need to press a release button during each movement, although the required force and locking mechanism vary between models.

The Nocturn Industries ALPHA Mount combines a force-to-overcome mechanism with locking positions and a dovetail interface. The mount is offered in powered and non-powered configurations for supported devices.

The Norotos Lo-Sto Force-to-Overcome Mount provides vertical, tilt and fore-and-aft adjustment while positioning the device close to the helmet when stowed.

Push-Button Mounts

Push-button mounts require a control to be activated before the device is moved between its deployed and stowed positions. Some users prefer the deliberate release action, while others prioritise the rapid movement of a force-to-overcome design.

Breakaway NVG Mounts

A breakaway system is designed to allow the mount to separate from the helmet shroud when subjected to a defined impact load. This may reduce the force transferred to the user and helmet, but the release behaviour, adjustment and locking options differ between manufacturers.

Breakaway-equipped options include selected Wilcox G24, Cadex, Argus, Norotos and Nocturn Industries configurations. Confirm whether the exact product variant provides a fixed, adjustable or selectable breakaway mode.

Nocturn Industries ALPHA Mount

The Nocturn Industries ALPHA NVG Mount is a lightweight dovetail system manufactured from aluminium and stainless steel. It includes tilt and height adjustment, a force-to-overcome mechanism, locking positions and an optional powered configuration for supported Nocturn Industries devices.

Cadex Low-Profile Flip-Up Mount

The Cadex Low-Profile Flip-Up NVG Mount follows the helmet profile when stowed and provides height and angle adjustment. Available configurations may include dovetail or bayonet interfaces and breakaway or non-breakaway operation.

Wilcox G24

The Wilcox G24 Breakaway NVG Mount uses a dovetail device interface, adjustable positioning and a quick-release connection to a compatible helmet shroud. Confirm the exact generation and travel specification when comparing different G24 versions.

Argus G24-Style Mount

The Argus G24-Style LWNVM Mount provides an aluminium dovetail mounting option with a breakaway feature. It is not compatible with traditional bayonet-style J-arms.

Norotos Lo-Sto and INVG Mounts

The Norotos range includes force-to-overcome and push-button Lo-Sto configurations, alongside the Norotos INVG Hyper. Depending on the selected interface, Norotos mounts can support modern dovetail devices or compatible bayonet equipment.
