The Nocturn Industries Chimera is the first articulating quad-tube night vision goggle, delivering advanced panoramic performance, compact ergonomic design, and reinforced optical interfaces in a robust system. Its patented articulating design allows each optical pod to stow backward toward the helmet, lowering the overall profile and shifting the center of gravity closer to the neck’s natural pivot point. This improves balance, enhances comfort, and reduces neck fatigue during extended missions or long airsoft/milsim sessions.
Each optical pod can articulate independently, providing rapid access to night vision while improving head clearance in vehicles or confined spaces. The Chimera reduces snag hazards, allows simultaneous use with weapon-mounted optics or thermal devices, and is compatible with all PVS-14 pattern objective lens accessories, including lens protectors, daytime training filters, LIFs, and CHADs.
The Chimera incorporates a redesigned optical package by Rochester Precision Optics with an eyebox ~20% larger than standard, ensuring full field of view even when wearing gas masks. Durable magnesium alloy pods and a 7075-T6 aluminum bridge with steel reinforcements provide an ultralight yet extremely rugged system. Onboard CR123A power delivers over 10 hours of runtime, while optional 00B LEMO or Fischer battery packs extend operation up to 40+ hours.
